Overview

Avila Golf & Country Club is a private club set inside a gated residential community in north Tampa. It opened in 1980 and is built around a Mediterranean-style clubhouse.

The 18-hole championship course is credited by the club to Jack Nicklaus, while some golf directories list Ron Garl as the architect. Water is in play on many holes.

Other facilities include Har-Tru tennis courts, a fitness center of roughly 7,000 square feet with massage services, a pool, a golf simulator and junior programming.
