Overview
Highlands Ridge is a gated golf community for residents 55 and older in Avon Park, in Highlands County. It has about 600 homes, with space for about 200 more, and two 18-hole golf courses.
The South Course, credited to Steve Smyers, dates to 1990, and the North Course, credited to Dave Harman, to 2000; both are par 72 and operate as semi-private. Residents also have Founders Hall for activities, a restaurant, two pools, pickleball, tennis, shuffleboard, bocce, a fishing dock and a library.
