Overview

The Yacht & Country Club in Stuart is a private, member-owned club inside a gated waterfront community that dates to 1969. Wikipedia describes it as Martin County's first golf-course community.

The 18-hole course opened in 1971 to a Charles Martyn design and was redesigned in 2020 by Tom Pearson, a longtime Jack Nicklaus Design associate. It now plays to par 71 and 6,574 yards. In its early years the course staged pro-am events with Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead and Perry Como that raised money for an anti-drug campaign.

The club reports multi-million-dollar renovations of both the course and the clubhouse.
