Overview
Schalamar Creek is a gated 55-plus community of about 500 acres on US 92 east of Lakeland, built around an 18-hole golf course. The par-72 course was designed by Ron Garl and dates to 1986; it measures about 6,300 yards.
The community has the Caddy Shack restaurant and pub, poolside dining, a driving range over water and a golf shop with a teaching professional. Tournaments for men, women and couples run through the year.
